HOPE AND ANCHOR

Welcome to Vevil International’s proposals for the restoration of KOKO and the Hope and Anchor Pub, including 65 Bayham Place and 1 Bayham Street.

Previous Works

As you may be aware, planning permission for the restoration of KOKO and adjoining buildings was granted at Camden’s planning committee in February 2018.

Works are now commencing on-site to begin demolition. Tower Demolition Ltd has been appointed to carry out the demolition of the former Hope & Anchor Pub located at 74 Crowndale Road, Camden, NW1 1TP and the adjacent 1 Bayham Street and 65 Bayham Place.

Construction Management Plan

Over the past months, Tower Demolition has been undertaking demolition works to the former Hope & Anchor Pub located at 74 Crowndale Road and the adjacent 1 Bayham Street and 65 Bayham Place. Its programme of works is nearing completion and I would like to take this opportunity to introduce Od Group, who will be the principal contractor carrying out the forthcoming works for the construction phase.

Od Group is a specialist prime residential, commercial, new build, refurbishment and fit-out construction company. Marcus Jahrling is the Senior Construction Manager and day-to-day contact for the site, you can get in touch with him via marcus.jahrling@od-group.com. Od Group and the site is registered to the Considerate Constructors Scheme, a national initiative set-up to minimise disruption of construction works.

Od Group has drafted a Construction Management Plan (CMP), which can be downloaded HERE. We are keen to liaise with the local community on before submitting to Camden Council. The CMP details how the site will be managed to help minimise construction impacts that relate to both the site activity and transport arrangements for vehicles servicing the site.

We ask that you share comments or thoughts on the draft CMP with us by Monday 27 August 2018 for them to be considered ahead of submitting to Camden Council. However, please note that the CMP is a live working document, which can be updated throughout the life of the project. If you would like a hard copy of the CMP delivered to you, please contact me via email at catherines@commcommuk.com or by telephone on 020 7125 0421.

Od Group is currently developing a full programme of works, which is estimated to be a 76-week programme. From Monday 24 September 2018, you will begin to see more activity on-site as Od Group set-up its site welfare and complete enabling works. We will be working in-line with Camden Council’s guidelines, with working hours Monday to Friday, 8am-6pm and Saturday 8am-1pm.

We will also be holding community liaison meetings to meet and discuss the works with local residents and businesses. The first meeting is being arranged for the beginning of October 2018 and we will send you details of this meeting nearer the time. If you are interested in attending, please do get in touch.

Ahead of works, we will also be issuing monthly newsletters to keep you updated throughout the project. In the meantime, if you have any questions or would like to subscribe to our updates list to receive the newsletters via email, please do get in touch. We understand construction can be disruptive and we are keen to work closely with the whole community to ensure that the works cause as minimal disruption as possible.
