Described as 'soaring and sublime synth pop' by the Guardian, The Ghosts are headling Club NME this February. Formed when Alex Starling (Ou Est Le Swimming Pool) met New York trained jazz drummer Ian Palmer, and Canadian Keys/Violin player Rayna Ferner (Alan Pownall), the three were introduced by Jon Brookes of The Charlatans and are completed by Dan Whiffin and Alex Sharman. They recorded their debut album The End in two weeks in March with producer Tim Bran (La Roux/Paul McCartney).
They have been tipped as ones to watch by Napster, The Guardian, Mixmag and many others. This summer the band have played festivals across the UK and Europe and shared stages with the likes of The Vaccines. They are currently living and writing in a former music school where Elgar once taught.
Students - come to Club NME for £2 before 10.30pm / £4 before Midnight every Friday* with your student card.
*excluding Halloween, Xmas and NYE balls.
