Gig info

THIS EVENT IS NOW SOLD OUT - have a Happy New Year everyone.

As another glorious year of championing new music and bright young bands draws to a close, the Club NME NYE Ball returns to KOKO to help you see in 2013 with some very special guests.

This year we welcome Birmingham's Peace, to headline the proceedings. With over 200 shows behind them including support slots with the Vaccines, Tame Impala and Magic Kids, Peace have emerged as the ones to watch in 2013. Describing themselves as "dark melodic indie techno" the band have earned comparisons to the likes of Foals, Wu Lyf and The Maccabees. Since releasing singles such as Bloodshake, they've been hard at work recording their debut album with Jim Abiss to be released early 2013. From what we've heard, it's stunning. This is their biggest headline show to date, and they're ready to give 2012 the send off it deserves. Be assured it certainly won't be, um, peaceful.

Support comes from LULS. Combining anthemic rock, classic pop and underground electronica, their sound sits somewhere between the Everly Brothers and Yeah Yeah Yeahs. We're excited.

Add to all that the Club NME DJs that have kept you in musical heaven for the past 12 months, and this will be the place to spend NYE.

Doors are 9pm, last entry is 11pm.
