Mike Doughty of Soul Coffin to support

Wednesday, June 29, 2011

In the year since OK Go released their acclaimed third album, Of the Blue Colour of the Sky, the Los Angeles quartet has gone from being a relatively unknown indie band, to an internet sensation that even your Mum was sending you links to. You probably know the bit about the treadmills by now, but it's safe to say that those trusty treadmills shot the band into better health and gave them some of the attention that their records deserved.

Billboard called them “trailblazing,” the head of Apple’s marketing said they were “the first post-internet band, the first band to use the internet as a medium of art, not just commerce” and Business Week praised their new model of “proactive creative types…looking beyond traditional parameters to get support for their work.”

The band says they just like “making stuff.”
